A Study in Magic

Read, available freely online.

Harry Potter/Sherlock Holmes crossover fanfiction. Published 2011-2012, I believe.

First read (August 2012)Edit

From the copy. 45810 words according to, 247953 characters according to Notepad++[1], which is about 45082 words, which at 350 words per page would cover 129 pages.

Recommended on r/hpmor and praised by another commenter in a way that made it sound appealing. Started reading it after discarding The Magician's Apprentice on August the 4th 2012. After a few chapters I thought it was entertaining enough, if not strongly promising. It didn't take off or make much of itself. Like Brutal Harry it was riddled with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, making it a bit hard to read.

Reading RecordEdit

Previous book: Trudi Canavan, The Magician's Apprentice (first attempt)

Next book: Robert Louis Stevenson, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
