Format

Hardback two-volume set borrowed from Mum's friend Maureen. From Heron Books' Charles Dickens: Complete Works, centennial edition.

• Bleak House I: 536 pages, 36 lines per page, 20 blanks pages. 1031484 characters making 536 standard pages (lol).

Journal

Took the first part to my holiday in Northumberland in August 2011 but finished Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman! instead. Read the first couple of chapters at work on August 28th. September 12th: Haven't made much progress, finding it a bit boring.

September 15th: Well I'm up to chapter 8 and it's just too boring. It's rambling on with no apparent direction, I'm just trying to figure out where it's going all the time. I'll come back to it, but for now I think I'll give it a rest.

September 19th: I decided to carry on after adding to all the various pages of this wiki that I'd attempted it and it made me feel bad :P I figured it wouldn't be that hard in the end to read the damn thing and it was worth it, considering its age and the prestige of the author. I want to be a person who's read this book!

By the end of September I'd fully moved on to HPMoR and have marked it as discarded, for now.
