First came across him I think in a discussion with Richard Dawkins and the other members of The Four Horsemen, possibly in 2009. I thought he was a bit of a swaggering ass, but came to appreciate him for being a prominent atheist and antitheist with very strong opinions he always put across frankly. I largely found his arguments persuading and no-nonsense, which I liked, and the famous 'hitchslap' moments were delightful. I was very affected (by my standards) by his passing in December 2011.

My absolute all time favourite Christopher Hitchens moment, which showcases his brilliance, wit, and no-nonsense understanding of , is a radio interview he did playing a game called "What If?", available online. It could not have been set up to make him look more awesome, and boy does he take advantage of every opportunity.
