Terry Pratchett. Published in 1983. Read twice, and own a copy.
The only Terry Pratchett book I've read, despite his being popular among people like myself.
First read[]
Format[]
1995 Corgi paperback. 275 pages, 19 blank, 33 lines per page, estimated 45.1 characters per line[1], putting it at 198 standard pages. Actually 363948 characters long[2], which is 189 standard pages. Not bad!
Journal[]
Inherited a copy of it from my cousins, along with several other fantasy books. First read it goodness knows when, in my teenage years. Thought it was alright, a bit weird.
Second read (October 18th - November 1st 2012)[]
Format[]
As above.
Journal[]
Started reading it on October 18th 2012 after getting as far in Harry Potter and the Natural 20 as had been written at the time. I had been intending to get into Terry Pratchett for a while, at least giving it a chance, having decided I might quite love it.
Finished it on the 1st of November, on the way to work. I didn't think it was funny, really, at all. It may have been when it was released, and maybe the later Discworld books refine the humour a little, but this one didn't bowl me over. I liked lots of the characters though, Rincewind, Twoflower, the Luggage, Death :P Just didn't laugh out loud or even nearly.
