First watch (November 5th 2012)[]

Format[]

At home. Japanese with English subs.

Journal[]

Decided I would work my way through the Studio Ghibli films, having watched a couple and repeatedly, everywhere, seeing various ones of them praised and ghibbered over.

Watched this one on the evening of November 5th 2012. Very absorbing, awesome setting and portrayal, the story is told in a beautifully trivialising way - the real star of the film is the implied science-fiction-esque events that the characters of the film are living within.

Second watch (July 28th 2013)[]

Format[]

At Hayley's on DVD. Japanese with English subs.

Journal[]

Watched at Hayley's after going to Hyper Japan, she bought it on DVD on our way back. It was still good, but I was a bit surprised at its predictability and simplicity. I think I've maybe just cottoned on to the Miyazaki formula :P Hayley seemed to really like it, so that was good.

Nicole at work was asking about Ghibli movies and I recommended this one after she'd watched Mononoke. I watched it the same night she did and she loved it as I expected. I did too!
