First watchEdit

FormatEdit

At home, English dub. I remember Gillian Anderson's voicing the mother wolf.

JournalEdit

I originally watched it in the late 2000s I expect, at home on my own. I found it intriguing but I'm not sure I quite got into it.

Second watch (November 14th 2012)Edit

FormatEdit

At home. Japanese with English subs.

JournalEdit

Watched the night after finishing a university assignment, a few days after watching Kiki's Delivery Service. A return to the fantasy style of Nausicaa and Laputa, which intrigues me so. I think I like Nausica the best, this one was a bit more sombre and complicated, the moral and social issues were very grey.

Third watch (7th August 2014)Edit

FormatEdit

Sheffield Showroom cinema with Sarah and Shaun. Japanese with subs.

JournalEdit

Great soundtrack and generally very charming and engrossing as before, but this time it really struck me how hard it was to figure out what the movie was about. Like, there was no clear message that I could figure out. If I had to plump for something, it would be that neither side on the nature vs. mankind argument is right. But I find that hard to really grok so I'm not sure.
