Second film in Nolan's Batman trilogy.
First watch (2008)Edit
IMAX cinema in London, with Matthew, not sure who else.
Found it weird and couldn't get my head around it. Didn't like the format or mood, wasn't what I was expecting. Thought the Joker was confusing.
Second watch (19th July 2012)Edit
By this time I've seen so much analysis of it in different forms that I was much more prepared to enjoy it, and enjoy it I did. I love the Joker, and in retrospect, after watching The Dark Knight Rises this is by far my favourite of the trilogy and I'm so glad it exists.
Third watch (25th August 2015)Edit
The Joker-interrogation scene came up on reddit during the last week of the 2015 Summer holiday, so I watched it and ended up watching The Dark Knight Rises for the first time since seeing it at the cinema. Then I watched The Dark Knight again. It really has some fantastic stuff in it. Even though I can't take Christian Bale's Batman seriously anymore, after all the hilarious spoofs and parodies that it spawned. Definitely a cultural phenomenon though! Massive props to Nolan for that.
Ratings, awards, mentions and recommendationsEdit
Great soundtrack (Hans Zimmer).
